Department of Music - College of Liberal Arts - Texas A&M University Corpus Christi

 The Department of Music is excited to welcome two new faculty members in the fall.

 

Dr. Rachel Messing will serve as Assistant Professor of Oboe and Music History. Dr. Messing joins us from the Phoenix, Arizona, area, where she has worked as an adjunct oboe teacher at Grand Canyon University and Mesa Community College. She also works as a freelance musician throughout Arizona and across the country.

 

Dr. Ksenija Komljenović joins the faculty as Assistant Professor of Percussion. Dr. Komljenović is an award-winning percussionist and composer who has studied, performed and taught across Europe, Asia and the United States. She is the co-founder of the Balkan Percussion Duo, an award-winning ensemble based out of her home country of Serbia.

The Department of Music congratulates Dr. Rai Morales and his ensembles for being accepted to perform at two prestigious conferences in 2020. The Trombone Choir will perform at the Texas Tech University Trombone Conference in January , and the Texas Music Educators Association Conference in February. In addition, Mariachi de la Isla has also been accepted to perform at the 2020 TMEA Conference. A hearty bravo to Dr. Morales and all of the hard-working students!
