Think you can sing? Think you have what it takes to be the next Corpus
Christi Idol or the new Junior IDOL
of Corpus Christi?
Well, it’s your time to shine
because Texas A & M University Department of Theatre and Dance is hosting
the Corpus Christi Idol and Junior IDOL of Corpus Christi contests
and auditions begin Friday February 15.
AUDITIONS will be held Friday, February 15, 5-7pm, Saturday,
February 16, 10-7 pm and Sunday,
February 17, 2-7 pm in the TAMUCC Warren
Theatre in the Center for the Arts. Auditions are open to ALL
Coastal Bend residents of all ages with Corpus Christi IDOL contestants 13 and up and the newly created Junior IDOL of Corpus Christi for
contestants 12 and under. Entry processing fee is $10 per person. Those who
audition must be prepared to sing via CD, cassette tape, a cappella, or one’s
own accompaniment (i.e. guitar, etc.). .
FINALS for both shows are in the
beautiful TAMUCC Performing Arts Center
and are open to the public on Feb. 22,
and 23 at 7pm. The audience will
select their favorite Corpus Christi
IDOL and Junior IDOL of Corpus
Christi. Contestants will have a
chance to earn the title of “Corpus
Christi Idol 2013” and “Junior IDOL
of Corpus Christ” and win more than $300 in cash and prizes. Junior IDOL of Corpus Christi finals
are at 7pm, Friday, Feb 22 and the finals for Corpus Christi IDOL are Saturday 7pm, Feb 23.
The third annual solo talent
competition, sponsored by the Department of Theatre and Dance as a fundraiser
for the University’s Theatre Program, will include performances by the top 20
finalists for both contests. The finals are open to the public and are held on
Friday, February 22, and Saturday, February 23. The winner will be announced at
the end of voting for Corpus Christi
IDOL and Junior IDOL of Corpus
Christi. A $10 admission fee will
secure your place in the voting as YOU select the top three winners in each

Q: My daughter’s birthday is between the audition and the contest,
should she audition for Jr. Idol or Corpus Christi Idol?
A: Audition for the contest for the age she will be on the finals.
Q: My accompaniment music is on my iPhone, do you have an adapter for your stereo?

select the first, second, and third place winners in both contests.
Q: Can anyone come to the finals?
A: YES! YES ! YES !!! The more “fans” you have the greater the chance
of becoming one of the top three to win!
Q: May I videotape my audition or my finals performance?
A: Yes! We encourage you to keep a record of your performance.
