History Internships

"I believe I had the most fun and learned the most while utilizing the hands on approach and actually working with actual objects in a real working museum. What surprised me the most about what I learned was that working in a museum can be fun, it is not boring and I enjoyed learning." – History major, TAMU-CC

Students who are looking for a practical, hands-on, outside-of-the-classroom learning experience may want to consider an internship.  The History program at TAMU-CC collaborates with the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History and other local historical organizations to give students real-world experience in the collection, cataloguing, and public presentation of historical artifacts and archival documents.  In addition to providing a non-traditional learning experience, internships help prepare students for careers in public history, from museum curators to archivists, documentary filmmakers, historical preservationists, and cultural resource managers.

We currently offer for-credit, non-paid internships through the College of Liberal Arts’ Applied Experience course.  To discuss this or other internship opportunities, contact our Internship Coordinator, Dr. Chrissy Lau
