Women's History Month 2021

We have a very exciting Women's History Month planned for March 2021. This year we will be virtually hosting three stellar guest faculty speakers from around the state who are working on women's histories, literatures, and art!  First, we'll have Dr. Larisa Veloz, Assistant Professor of History at the University of Texas, El Paso, give her virtual talk entitled, “Courageous Crossings: Women, Gender, and the U.S.-Mexico Border 1910-1950” on Wednesday March 3 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm on WebEx.  Then, we welcome Dr. Sara Ramírez, Assistant Professor of English at Texas State University, giving her lecture, “Shaman Aesthetics: Accessing el Cenote through Andrea Muñoz Martinez’s Art” on Monday March 8 from 11 am - 12:30 pm on WebEx. And our third speaker, Dr. Crystal Webster, Assistant Professor of African American History at the University of Texas, San Antonio, will give her virtual talk on "The History and Legacy of Black Childhood in America" on Monday March 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 on WebEx. We also have other Women's History Month events including the Kick-Off event on March 1, a poetry, healing, and wellness panel by the Switchgrass Review,and the 'Women's Gaming and Cultural Critique' Stream (co-hosted by Brittany Maxey).  Please find our full Calendar of events linked here
