Applied Science Program
TAMUCC College of Liberal Arts
The Bachelor of Applied Science program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi builds on knowledge and skills students with formal training in a vocational-technical studies area from accredited institutions and graduates from Applied Arts and Science Associate degree programs have acquired. This is awarded on completion of 120 semester hours of credit.
Requirements for admission to the program:
An AAS degree from a recognized program adn completion of the awarding college's core curriculum;
- OR -
Completion of up to 33 hours of vocational/technical credit from an accredited junior college, Completion of the junior colleges or TAMU-CC core curriculum (partial completion of core subjects at the other institutions will require completion of TAMU-CC's core), and a minumum GPA of 2.5.

Applied Leadership - is designed for students in any field who seek to advance their careers by taking on supervisory positions.

Childhood Development/Early Childhood Education - is designed for graduates of Applied Arts and Sciences program in Child Development, as well as child care providers who seek additional qualifications.

Community and Mental Health - is designed for graduates of Addiction Option/Human Services or the Intergenerational/Human Services degrees and others who seek entry level positions in social services agencies such as Child Protective Services or Child/Elderly care facilities.

Digital Information Mapping* - prepares students for a variety of careers in digital mapping.

Emergency Response - prepares students planning careers in professions such as firefighter, police officer, emergency management planner, or incident response officer in the management of emergency situations such as natural disasters or major industrial incidents.

Industrial Electronics and Manufacturing - prepares students for a variety of technical/professional careers such as industrial safety inspector, control systems technician, manufacturing specialist, manufacturing technologist, and electronics technician.

Information Technology* - prepares students for a variety of careers such as personal computer technician, network administrator, database manager, information security technician, and computer technology manager within commercial, industrial, educational and government organizations.

Legal Studies - is designed for graduates of Court Reporting, Legal Secretarial and Paralegal specialties who seek advancement in private law firms, federal or state governmental agencies, legal departments or corporations, banks, insurance companies, mortgage companies, law libraries, legal services/legal aid offices, and law departments of special interest groups or associations.

Technical Communication - is designed for graduates from a variety of Applied Arts and Sciences programs who seek preparation for career tracks that demand good communication skills. It provides entry into a fast-growing, in-demand field.
