Registration day:
We are asking parents who will be driving any students to come into the Center for the Arts on Tuesday morning to sign in and to ensure that we have all the necessary paperwork from you.  If you will be driving yourself then we will want to make sure that everything is in order as well.

Directions to the Center for the Arts:
To get us, you will need driving down Ocean Drive towards the Naval Base, turn right into the University’s second entrance (you’ll be passing by our Performing Art Center with large windows facing the water), turn right again after the guard post and straight ahead you’ll see a building with the words Center for the Arts above it.  You can park in one of the nearby parking lots and walk towards the large steel sculpture that marks the entrance to our classrooms!

Parking:
Speaking of parking, if you do intend to drive yourself to and from the University everyday, please let us know in advance so that we may obtain a parking permit for you.  If you intend on dropping off and picking us students, then a permit will not be necessary.

Clothing:
Please be sure to wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting messy as well as closed toed shoes (i.e. – no flip flops or sandals please).   If you have long hair, please bring something to wear it back.

Lunch:
While we will not be providing lunch for students (except for Friday where we’ll have a pizza party!), we do plan on visiting the TAMUCC dining hall where a buffet will be served everyday for the price of $7.50 Students who will be bringing their lunch everyday will be allowed to join us in the dinning hall as well.

Drop off/Pick up:
While we do ask that parents dropping off students stop by on Tuesday morning to sign them in, it is not necessary to do so everyday when dropping off and picking up.

If parents would prefer to drop off and pick up students outside so as not to park, then we will ask you to sign a waiver allowing them to do so.  All students will be asked to sign in and out all week.

Please make arrangements to allow students to be picked up at 3:00pm as the Institute instructors and coordinators do have classes to attend in the evenings.

T-shirts:
During the Printmaking workshop, our instructor will be demonstrating woodblock printing and would like to print an image onto a t-shirt of yours.  Please bring a brightly colored cotton shirt (anywhere from Neon to regular white) after which you will be able to take it home.  No dark colored t-shirts such as black, dark brown, or dark blue please.

Again, on behalf of the Department of Art at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, we want to thank you for joining us for our 2015 Summer Art Institute!  We are looking forward to having you here and making great some exciting art.   If you have any questions before we begin on Tuesday, please feel free to email me at Joe.Pena@tamucc.edu or call at 361-825-2386
